Ernst Simon Glaser – Echos of what will come – Conversations with J.S (2022) [FLAC 24 bit, 96 kHz]

Glaser has had a number of works written for him and he is currently working on his project “Conversations with J.S.Bach”. Glaser wants to explore the potential to connect the music of Bach with present-day approaches and has commissioned new companion pieces to be played alongside each of the Bach cello suites. Six different Norwegian composers have focussed on one Bach suite each. His hope is to create a unique meeting point between the past and the present; a conversation across timelines.

Ann-Helen Moen, Liv Glaser – Freundstücke – Mozart Lieder (2021) [FLAC 24bit, 96 kHz]

Wonderful Mozart songs with Ann-Helen Moen and Liv Glaser! Written for performance in private contexts – by and with music-loving friends. The sound of the time-typical hammer piano forms the framework for a beautiful musical experience with two of our foremost Mozart interpreters.

Mozart apparently did not place much emphasis on these songs, which were collected under the title “German songs to sing at the piano” in his lifetime. But we quickly hear that the opera lurks around every turn in this music, and there is no doubt that one genre has inspired the other. Many of the most famous songs were also created in 1787, the same year that the opera ‘Don Giovanni’ premiered.
