Aforger is Douglas Dare’s follow-up to his critically acclaimed debut Whelm. The sparse chords and moody synths of his debut remain, but Dare has expanded his sound to include a brass ensemble and a choir. Lyrically, the singer/songwriter and pianist has opted for a more personal approach this time around, as evidenced on “Oh Father,” which tackles his coming out to his dad. ~ Bekki Bemrose
