A disciple of Jean-Marc Luisada at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris, the Russian pianist Alexandra Matvievskaya lately immersed herself in the work of Gabriel Fauré, and was quickly fascinated. With incomparable intensity, she expresses its tragic power as much as she exalts its harmonic and polyphonic depth. One of the great Fauré recitals of the last twenty years.

Alessandro Deljavan – Haydn: Sonatas & Variations (2022) [FLAC 24 bit, 44,1 kHz]

This recording is the the first collaboration of Italian pianist Alessandro Deljavan with Artalinna. It brings together three contrasting Sonatas and the famous Variations in F minor by Joseph Haydn, in fact two works from his full maturity (1793, 1794) with two opuses from the middle period (1774-1778) during which Haydn, the ebullient revolutionary, laid down the standards of the classical forms that were to structure a large part of creation until the end of the 19th century. The two scores of the 1790s represent a supreme achievement of “classical” genius.
